The Institute of Research and Learning (IRLearning) is the training division of the Swimming Pool & Spa Association of Australia (SPASA), the peak industry body for the pool and spa sector. As SPASA's dedicated RTO, IRLearning specialises in construction, aquatic, and business qualifications, designed by industry for industry.

SPASA plays a leading role in advocacy, education, and industry development. Through IRLearning, SPASA provides nationally recognised training that supports the professionalisation and growth of the sector. About the role

The Business Development Manager will be central to driving IRLearning's growth. This is a proactive role focused on generating new business, opening doors, and securing opportunities. You'll be someone who thrives on the chase, identifying leads, building a strong pipeline, and converting opportunities into results.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement proactive sales initiatives to expand IRLearning's market reach.
  • Convert warm leads generated through social media activity into enrolments.
  • Actively identify, pursue, and convert new business opportunities across all training products.
  • Drive sales performance and support marketing activities to boost enrolments.
  • Provide input into program development to ensure products remain competitive and relevant.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to shape effective sales strategies.
  • Represent IRLearning at industry events and forums to build brand presence.

About you

We're looking for a driven, results-focused professional who combines commercial instincts with proven success in sales. You must bring a strong background in winning new business, hitting targets, and driving growth. This role requires a hunter mindset and resilience to achieve results.

Essential skills & experience

  • Proven sales experience with a track record of consistently exceeding targets.
  • Strong business development and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to spot and act on opportunities.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and comfortable working independently.
  • Willingness to travel and occasionally work outside standard hours.

Desirable

  • Qualification/experience in Business Management/Sales or related field.
  • Experience in an RTO or training environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
