To contribute to statewide strategic workforce planning and policy development activities across the health workforce and in relation to endorsed health priority areas, population groups and reform agendas within the Workforce Analytics Team, for the Workforce Strategy Branch.

What you'll do

  • Adhere to defined service quality and data standards, and health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken, to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
  • Fulfil the accountabilities of this role in accordance with the Queensland public service core values, as outlined above.
  • Assist in the research, development, implementation, planning and evaluation of key workforce planning initiatives to help meet strategic objectives.
  • Contribute to the provision of advice to senior departmental management and other internal and external stakeholders on a range of complex and sensitive health workforce issues.
  • Assist in the preparation of documents including submissions, briefings and other correspondence in addition to coordinating responses to any such correspondence and briefing requests.
  • Liaise, consult and negotiate with Queensland Health staff, other State and Commonwealth Government agencies, health professions and other stakeholders in relation to key workforce planning initiatives.
  • Actively participate in a workforce environment supporting quality human resource practices and policies including workplace health and safety, ethical behaviour, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination, and demonstrate commitment to their implementation consistent with the mission, vision, values and strategic intent of Queensland Health.
  • Represent the Workforce Strategy Branch on relevant internal committees and Department of Health on whole of government and national committees and forums as required.

About you

We are searching for someone who:

  • Demonstrated ability to research, analyse and interpret workforce trends in relation to complex health system issues.
  • Developed data acquisition, preparation, handling knowledge and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and contribute to reports of a substantial nature, on complex and sensitive health workforce issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise and engage with a range of government, industry and community stakeholders regarding the development of substantial workforce planning and policy initiatives.
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of health workforce issues including the needs of key population and workforce groups, and the functions and operations of a complex health service delivery agency.
  • Pursues continuous growth - Broadens knowledge and perspective by seeking new collaborations and experiences and participating in development initiatives.
