The Opportunity

This is a pivotal 12-month contract for a Senior Communication & Digital Designer to provide creative leadership at That Marketing Co. during a maternity leave period. You will take full ownership of the visual direction across print and digital, ensuring all creative work is strategically sound, flawlessly executed, and delivers tangible value for our clients.

In this role, you will guide projects, set the standard for quality, and mentor a talented team of junior designers.

What You'll Drive

  • Creative Direction & Brand Development: Lead the development of brand identity systems from concept to completion. You will drive the visual strategy for integrated marketing campaigns.

  • Digital & UX Design: Translate briefs into functional, user-centric interfaces. This includes building responsive prototypes in Figma, collaborating on WordPress (Elementor) sites, and producing video/animation content (After Effects/Premiere Pro).

  • Print & Production Management: Direct the end-to-end process for high-quality print collateral and signage execution. Your oversight will cover everything from art direction to managing complex print finishes and final file preparation.

  • Team Mentorship: Elevate the capabilities of our junior designers through constructive feedback, guidance, and by fostering a collaborative environment.

The Ideal Candidate

With 5-8 years of experience, you are an autonomous senior designer who excels at translating brand strategy into high-quality execution. You are a systems thinker, adept at guiding projects with minimal oversight and making meaningful contributions to campaign planning.

Your technical proficiency includes:

  • Core Stack: Expert-level command of Adobe CC (Id, Ai, Ps, Ae, Pr), Figma (auto-layout, variants, components), and WordPress (Elementor/DIVI).

  • Specialised Skills: Deep knowledge of print production processes, data merge, and pre-press. Experience with photography art direction is essential.

  • Forward-Thinking: You are actively engaged with the evolution of design tools, including the practical application of AI and LLMs to improve creative workflows.

Bonus qualifications:

  • A working knowledge of HTML/CSS.
