Asphalt Labourer/ Machine Operator

Due to the continued success in securing projects, we are now looking to increase our capacity to successfully deliver to our clients. We are currently looking for Asphalt Crew Members to join our surfacing team based in Elimbah.

These are casual positions to start with and will be well suited to individuals that have a high regard for safety and quality. The pay rate will be determined on experience & skill level.

Own transportation is required to get to the asphalt yard.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

  • Operate heavy equipment such as trucks, skidsteers, rollers, and pavers machines to apply asphalt products according to job specifications.
  • Use equipment and/or an assortment of hand tools (rakes, shovels, wheel barrels) and assist Asphalt team members as required with raking, shoveling, etc.
  • Must be a strong communicator and be in constant contact with the paver operator, truck drivers and general laborer's.

Essential Skills Required

  • Min 1 years on the job asphalt experience preferred
  • Certificate III in Civil Construction desirable
  • Drivers Licence required.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organisation.
  • Construction Induction White Card
  • Familiarity of Asphalt installation process
  • Maintenance and operation of relevant equipment (Rollers/Paver etc.)
  • Strong knowledge and appreciation of OH&S
  • Able to work well in a team environment
