About the role

Pilgrim Coffee' is seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef / Senior Chef to join our team in Hobart, TAS 7000. This full-time role is an exciting opportunity to lead our kitchen and shape the culinary direction of our popular café.

What you'll be doing

  • Oversee all aspects of food preparation and kitchen operations to ensure exceptional quality and consistency
  • Develop and refine the seasonal menu, creating innovative dishes that showcase the best of local and seasonal produce
  • Manage and mentor the kitchen team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene standards
  • Monitor and control food costs to maximise profitability
  • Collaborate with the front-of-house team to provide an outstanding customer experience

What we're looking for

  • Experience as a Senior Chef in a high-quality café or restaurant environment
  • Track record of delivering innovative and delicious menus
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities
  • Passion for using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients
  • Thorough understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Relevant qualifications in commercial cookery or hospitality
