**The Hospital**:
This is Australia's second oldest hospital opening in 1804, and is a major clinical teaching and research centre working closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. The hospital provides acute, sub acute, mental health and aged care inpatient and ambulatory services to a population of about 240,000 people and has 550 physical beds, including 460 acute overnight and 90 day beds.
**The Role**:
Our client is seeking interest from suitably qualified (FRACS Neurosurgery) applicants for a Head of Department / Staff Specialist - Neurosurgeon vacancy. The Hospital provides most specialist medical services for the region or state. The Tasmanian Neurosurgical Unit is a state-wide tertiary centre receiving elective and emergency neurosurgery patients.
The Head of Department role will be 0.5 FTE.
There is also the opportunity for 0.5 FTE Staff specialist opportunity.
