Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly driven and commercially astute Wholesale Business Development Manager with a strong background in air and sea freight forwarding. This role is responsible for developing and managing strategic relationships with wholesale clients and overseas agents across key trade lanes.

You will focus on identifying new business opportunities, increasing revenue from existing partners, and promoting our wholesale air and sea freight product offerings within a dynamic, fast-paced logistics environment.

The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of both air and sea freight operations, pricing structures, and service models, thrives in a relationship-based sales environment, and brings strong market awareness across multiple international corridors.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Identify, target, and convert new wholesale opportunities across air and sea freight.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with existing wholesale clients and overseas agents.
  • Promote consolidation services, express solutions, LCL/FCL options, and deferred routing tailored for the wholesale market.
  • Develop and implement trade lane strategies to grow GP and volume.
  • Represent the business at industry events and networking opportunities.

Account Management

  • Conduct regular reviews with key accounts to ensure service satisfaction and identify upselling opportunities.
  • Act as the escalation point for service or pricing issues impacting wholesale clients.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service and Operations to ensure seamless execution of solutions.

Commercial Insight & Reporting

  • Monitor competitor activity and pricing trends in wholesale freight.
  • Work with procurement and pricing teams to align sell rates with market conditions.
  • Provide monthly sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates to management.
  • Contribute to product development discussions and pricing strategies.

Key Competencies

  • Proven experience in international freight forwarding, with a focus on both air and sea freight.
  • Strong understanding of wholesale and agent-to-agent freight networks.
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to negotiate rates, manage margins, and close deals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-first approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously in a high-performance culture.
  • Experience with quoting and CRM systems (e.g., CargoWise) is an advantage but not essential.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in international freight forwarding, with at least 2 years in a business development or sales role.
  • Demonstrated success in growing wholesale or agent-based business in air and/or sea freight.
  • Strong network of wholesale and agent contacts preferred.
