What you'll be doing:

The Manager Emergency Management leads the state-wide coordination and liaison between the Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) and other emergency service organisations, functional area services, and other supporting agencies in accordance with the State Emergency Management Plan (EMPLAN) and the State Emergency and Rescue Management Act 1989.

The role also manages the oversight of policy and performance relating to operational regulatory compliance across the Service within the meaning of the Rural Fires Act 1997 and Regulations.

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in leading teams and engaging with stakeholders
  • A strong knowledge of the Emergency Management arrangements within NSW and the operational regulatory requirements of the Rural Fires Act 1997
  • A willingness to participate in operational duties in support of State Operations functions
  • An appreciation and understanding of a volunteer based emergency service
