Executive Manager – Programs

RMHC Greater Western Sydney (RMHC GWS) is seeking a highly experienced senior leader to join our executive team. This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of multiple high-impact projects, driving program growth, and leading organisational change to ensure effective and sustainable service delivery for all families of RMHC GWS.
Reporting directly to the CEO, the position provides strategic leadership across project management, stakeholder engagement, governance, financial oversight, and workforce development. The role requires exceptional skills in consulting with executive leadership and senior staff on change management planning, processes, and communications, while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement aligned with RMHC's mission and values.
This is a unique time to step into the role, with multiple complex, cross-functional projects underway that require strong executive leadership to manager, coordinate, and deliver sustainable outcomes across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead and oversee the successful execution of multiple, concurrent projects (like the CHW Family Room and House in the Hospital) through to successful project delivery, ensuring strategic alignment, resource optimisation, and timely achievement of milestones.
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
- ·Find opportunities for growth in our mission to deliver more and better programs to the families of children needing healthcare.
- Assess the risks involved in developing new programs.
- Lead and oversee the successful execution and ongoing expansion of the Food Programs.
2. Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate regular communication and reporting to ensure alignment.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Represent RMHC GWS at national committees and conferences.
3. Risk & Issue Management
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Implement contingency plans and escalate critical concerns as needed.
4. Team Coordination & Performance
- Guide cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.
- Lead and develop the team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, performance, and succession planning.
- Work closely with the CEO to align team culture with RMHC values and strategic goals.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and psychological safety.
- Maintain confidentiality and act with integrity in all professional interactions.
5. Budget & Resource Management
- Monitor project budgets and ensure financial accountability.
- Optimise resource usage and manage vendor relationships where applicable.
6. Governance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to project governance frameworks and organisational policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails.
7. Continuous Improvement
- Conduct post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions.
- Recommend process improvements and contribute to best practice.
- Consult with executive leadership and senior staff on change management planning, processes, and communications to ensure effective and sustainable service delivery
8. Workplace Health & Safety
- Promote a safe and healthy work environment.
- Maintain compliance with relevant legislation
- Ensure WHS procedures are followed, and incidents are reported and addressed.
9. Safeguarding Children & Young People
All employees and volunteers are required to uphold the safety and wellbeing of all of all children and young people accessing our service by:
- Complying with the RMHC SCYP Framework to ensure high child safety standards, including preventing, identifying, and reporting abuse.
- ·Maintaining a zero-tolerance approach to any form of child abuse.
- Creating a safe and supportive environment where children and young people feel valued, heard, and empowered.
- Complying with all relevant child safety legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Continuously maintaining required working with children check and police clearances whilst employed at RMHC.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Project Delivery Success Rate: % of projects delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
- Stakeholder Satisfaction Score: Feedback ratings from key stakeholder's post-project.
- Risk Mitigation Effectiveness: % of identified risks successfully mitigated.
- Budget Variance: Difference between planned and actual project spend.
- Team Engagement & Retention: Team feedback scores and turnover rates.
- Project Documentation Quality: Compliance with governance and audit standards.
- Process Improvement Contributions: Number and impact of improvements implemented.
Qualifications & Experience Essential:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business Management / Project Management or related field
Desirable:
- Background in health
Essential:
- A minimum of 5 years' management experience in project delivery and/or overseeing accommodation operations
- Proven experience in executive-level stakeholder engagement, including with Boards, government, and senior industry partners.
- Demonstrated success in leading large-scale projects and organizational change management
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high performing teams, fostering collaboration and a culture of positivity and growth
- Demonstrated experience in Not-For-Profit (NFP) environment particularly within accommodation, social or support services sectors (or equivalent)
- Experience in managing large contracts and budgets, driving operational efficiency, and ensuring high standards of delivery
- Experience in supporting or managing Capital Works Projects
- Experience in developing and implementing frameworks to measure and enhance impact, ensuring alignment with organisational mission and strategy
