ABOUT THE ROLE

Barker College is currently seeking a Strength & Conditioning – Athletic Development Coordinator based at our Hornsby campus. This will be a permanent Full-Time role commencing ASAP. Lead and enhance Barker College's athletic development program, delivering structured, evidence-based training to support the athletic development of students and first-grade sports teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Development & Delivery: Oversee the design and implementation of tailored strength and conditioning programs for Barker College sports teams, applying scientific principles and long term athlete development frameworks
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work in partnership with fellow Strength & Conditioning Coordinators and sports coaches to align athletic preparation with Barker College's sports vision and strategic objectives
  • Athlete Support: Provide both gym floor supervision and on field support as required, ensuring athletes receive real time coaching, technique correction, and motivational guidance
  • Resource Utilisation: Leverage Barker College's facilities, technology, and staff to deliver effective and appropriate training programs, utilizing load monitoring, testing, and performance tracking tools.
  • Cross Functional Integration: Collaborate closely with sports coaches, sports medicine professionals, and performance staff to coordinate athlete workload, injury prevention, and return to play strategies.
  • Program Evaluation & Innovation: Regularly assess athlete progress, refine training protocols based on data and research, and ensure continuous improvement of the High-Performance program
