Student Athlete Development Leader

Foster a supportive environment where student-athletes can excel academically and athletically.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with internal and external parties to provide comprehensive support for student-athletes' unique needs.
  • Advocate for student-athletes, ensuring an inclusive educational environment that caters to their diverse requirements.
  • Collaborate with external organizations, such as the World Academy of Sport, to access resources and expertise that enhance student-athletes' development.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • World Academy of Sport:
    • Develop and implement strategies to direct and support athletes in achieving a balanced lifestyle.
    • Organize annual sport staff conferences, professional development days, and high-performance camps to promote athlete growth and well-being.
  • Pastoral Support:
    • Meet regularly with student-athletes, parents, coaches, and medical staff to understand goals, monitor progress, and provide personalized support.
    • Monitor and manage academic and sporting workloads to ensure a healthy balance.
    • Demonstrate a commitment to students' pastoral care while involved in high-performance programs.
  • Athletic Development:
    • Design and implement athletic development programs across various sports in collaboration with the Director of Sport.
    • Create long-term athletic development pathways that cater to individual athlete needs.
    • Develop and organize talent development programs within the college to identify and nurture emerging talent.

Establish connections between student-athletes, parents, coaches, and medical staff to promote a balanced lifestyle.

Requirements:
  • Experience working with student-athletes and their families.
  • Ability to coordinate with internal and external parties to deliver comprehensive support services.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
