Genetics Australia Holdings, the largest cattle reproduction centre in Australia, is seeking a motivated individual to join our maintenance and animal management team on a permanent, full-time basis. Based in the Western District of Victoria, this role works closely with the Farm Manager in a supportive team environment and would suit an enthusiastic, results-driven person with an interest in bovine reproduction

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • General farm maintenance, including fencing and water repairs
  • Scheduling and completing preventative maintenance tasks
  • Assisting with pasture management and hay/silage production
  • Operating ATVs, front-end loaders, and feeding equipment in line with OHS policies
  • Supporting animal nutrition programs
  • Administering animal health treatments safely under veterinary instruction
  • Adhering to strict animal welfare standards
  • Assisting with embryo/egg stimulation programming
  • Coordinating the arrival, departure, and movement of animals

Requirements:

  • Current car driver's licence
  • Experience with ATVs and front-end loaders
  • Basic ATV operating skills and competency required
  • Basic front-end loader operating experience required
  • Accreditation in chemical handling (advantageous)
  • Previous farming and animal husbandry experience
  • Any level of farming and animal husbandry experience welcomed
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to follow instructions and meet deadlines
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
