This is a full-time, permanent position based in our Bairnsdale office.

What You'll Be Doing

You will be a vital member of our team, responsible for producing accurate and competitive estimates. You will collaborate closely with our sales, administration, and construction teams to ensure seamless project delivery.

  • Accurately interpreting building plans to create detailed material and labour estimates.
  • Developing templates and estimates for standard G.J. Gardner designs.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date and competitive Price Book within the G.J. Software.
  • Identifying any potential job delays and mitigating consequences.
  • Using the Construction Scheduling System to create and maintain accurate project plans.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams.

What You'll Bring

We are looking for a team player with a passion for the construction industry, whether your experience is on the tools or in the office.

We are looking for EITHER:

  • A strong background in residential construction (e.g., carpentry) with a deep understanding of the building process and a genuine desire to move into an estimating role.

OR:

  • Demonstrated experience as an Estimator within the residential construction industry.

AND (Attributes for all applicants):

  • A passion for accuracy and a keen eye for detail.
  • A solid understanding of cost control and a profit-driven mindset.
  • Tech-Savvy: You must be proficient with computers, spreadsheets, and eager to learn new software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative, team-player attitude.
