We have an exciting career opportunity working within our Infrastructure Operations as a permanent full-time Coordinator Trades Services.

Job Description

Reporting to the Manager Infrastructure Operations, you will support Broken Hill City Council in delivering valued services to the community. The role oversees the coordination and scheduling of Council's trades operations, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of maintenance, repair, and project works across Council's facilities and infrastructure.

To experience success in this role, you will use your knowledge, skills and experience to ensure that works undertaken are completed safely in accordance with relevant legislation, standards, accepted industry practices and Council policies and will include the supervision of all staff and contractors associated with the works. Suitable applicants will require recent relevant work experience as well as an in-depth knowledge and a high level of demonstrated competency in the provision of various trade services including the ability to plan, monitor and report.

Essential Criteria:

  • Current Class C Drivers Licence.
  • Trade qualification or equivalent extensive experience in a relevant field (e.g., Building, Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, Masonry, Boilermaking / Metal Fabrication or similar).
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams and managing multiple worksites or trade-based projects.
  • Sound knowledge of Council operations, maintenance scheduling and WHS compliance requirements.
  • Proven leadership skills, including the ability to motivate, support and develop employees to achieve high performance outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in the effective management and allocation of resources, including plant, materials and labour.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse systems, work practices and implement positive changes.
  • Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite Applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
