Role Details

Are you an experienced tradesperson or supervisor with a passion for leading high-performing maintenance teams? Join our Mobile Maintenance team in Broken Hill, and take charge of supervising our talented team of Heavy Diesel Mechanics underground.

You'll be responsible for leading a team of mechanical tradespeople to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable maintenance of underground mobile equipment. You'll play a hands-on role in daily coordination, troubleshooting, and mentoring, ensuring maintenance activities are completed to a high standard and in line with production priorities.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Supervise and support a team of underground Heavy Diesel Mechanics.
  • Coordinate daily maintenance activities to minimise equipment downtime.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and performance feedback to trades personnel.
  • Monitor maintenance standards, ensuring compliance with site safety and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve reliability and equipment performance.
  • Participate in planning and continuous improvement initiatives across the maintenance department.

What You Will Bring

  • Trade qualification as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic (or similar mechanical trade).
  • Proven experience in underground mining or heavy equipment maintenance.
  • Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive commitment to safety and team development.
