The role

The
Project Coordinator
is responsible for keeping our projects on track - from planning and documentation to engaging with communities and making sure things run smoothly. You'll be juggling reports, coordinating resources, and working closely with stakeholders to deliver outcomes that meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards. You will play a key role in supporting the planning and implementation of the Parks for People program to ensure timely delivery of parks, playgrounds and urban squares near essential infrastructure and public transport.

A key part of the job involves meaningful engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, ensuring their voices are heard and reflected in our project strategies. You'll need to be thoughtful and culturally aware, especially when navigating sensitive issues and building trust with diverse communities. Whether it's researching emerging challenges or refining policy, your work helps shape better processes and clearer direction for everyone involved.

What you will bring to the role

  • Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills, fostering strong relationships and ensuring alignment with diverse stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Demonstrates cultural awareness and sensitivity when engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, ensuring respectful and inclusive consultation.
  • Effectively synthesises research, policy analysis, and statutory interpretation to inform project direction and support sound decision-making.
  • Maintains high-quality project documentation and reporting standards to support transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement across initiatives.

Knowledge and experience

  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and entities.
