About the Role

You'll coordinate the day-to-day rostering of support workers to ensure seamless, person-centred service delivery. You'll plan rosters 2–4 weeks ahead, action same-day changes with confidence, and act as a key contact for participants, families and frontline staff. Accuracy, pace and stakeholder care are everything in this role.

Your Responsibilities

  • Oversee the coordination and day-to-day management of support worker schedules, acting as a key point of contact between participants, support staff, and internal teams to ensure efficient and timely rostering across Just Living.
  • Forward plan rosters 2–4 weeks in advance and manage daily rostering changes with ease to ensure smooth coverage of shifts.
  • Verify weekly timesheets in preparation for payroll with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Manage the balance of permanent and casual staff members to ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Proactively manage roster changes in response to evolving participant needs, staff availability, and service priorities.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of shifts, staff hours, and participant preferences in our rostering systems in conjunction with our HR team.
  • Provide clear guidance and ongoing support to support workers regarding their schedules, responsibilities, and roster updates, and handle incoming calls with professionalism, providing support, information, and timely follow-ups as needed.
  • Respond promptly to staff leave requests and unplanned absences, organising replacements and adjusting rosters as needed to maintain continuity of care, and monitor staff attendance, punctuality, and compliance with absenteeism protocols via our rostering systems in conjunction with our HR team.
  • You will be part of a shared 7-day on-call roster and will receive attractive hourly remuneration for your commitment and availability.
  • Diligently match participants with the right support workers. Aligning skills, availability, preferences, and continuity of care.

About You:

To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will have:

Roster Coordination and Scheduling Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience managing staff rosters in a disability, mental health, aged care, or community services setting (essential).
  • Understanding of and ability to interpret the Social Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 and apply to the Roster (essential).
  • Familiarity with rostering platforms.
  • Available to share a 7-day on-call roster after hours (with full support from the Senior Management Team).

NDIS / Health Sector Knowledge:

  • Experience working in or supporting NDIS participants or similar care-based frameworks.
  • Understanding of NDIS compliance requirements, including worker screening, mandatory training, and service delivery expectations.

Crisis and Leave Management Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage last-minute changes, fill shifts on short notice, and handle staff absenteeism or leave with minimal disruption to service delivery.

Excellent Communication and Stakeholder Management:

  • Experience working closely with frontline staff, participants, families, and internal teams to coordinate care and resolve rostering issues professionally.

Strong Administrative Skills

  • Proficient in data entry, document management, and using various IT platforms. A keen eye for detail, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise competing tasks in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Desirable (but non-essential):

  • Prior experience with compliance audits or quality assurance processes.
  • Experience with payroll and timesheet verification.
  • Experience with the rostering program ShiftCare.
