Buffet / Event Sous Chef

We're seeking an experienced and motivated Buffet / Event Sous Chef to lead the preparation and execution of all hot buffet meals and plated event menus across our off-site catering operations. This role sits within our Hot Kitchen & Events Division, supporting the Executive Chef and Head Chefs team in ensuring every dish leaves the kitchen to the highest Elizabeth Andrews standard in meeting our clients' needs and exceeding their expectations.
About the Role
· Oversee the daily production of hot meals for buffets, conferences, and plated functions.
· Coordinate with the Events, Dispatch and Logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery for all off-site events.
· Lead, train, and mentor a team of chefs and kitchen hands during service and event plating.
· Maintain consistency in quality, presentation, and portioning across all dishes.
· Cater for a range of dietary requirements and requests
· Support the development of new menus and seasonal offerings for corporate and private functions.
· Uphold all food safety, allergen, and OHS standards in line with company procedures.
About You
· Minimum 3 years' experience in a high-volume or event catering kitchen.
· At least 1 year experience in relevant role
· Excellent time management and the ability to perform under pressure.
· Strong leadership and communication skills, with a hands-on approach.
· A keen eye for quality, detail, and presentation.
· Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
· Flexibility to work event hours when required.
