About the Role

We are seeking a passionate, food-loving, energetic, and experienced full time fresh produce manager to lead the produce section of our Collingwood store. The successful applicant must be friendly, customer-service oriented, sales-focused, and willing to go the extra mile to ensure we provide exceptional service and quality fresh produce to our customers and the local community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the fresh produce section, including receiving, storing, and displaying fresh produce according to quality guidelines
  • Maintain high standards of quality, freshness, and presentation including merchandising, cutting, wrapping and displays
  • Manage stock levels, rotation (FIFO), and waste reduction
  • Assist with deliveries, perform stocktakes, and liaise with the Fresh Produce Buyer to maintain fresh produce optimal inventory
  • Supervise, train, and motivate produce staff to ensure consistent, high quality produce displays and standards
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food handling regulations
  • Collaborate with the store manager to maintain smooth store operations
  • Monitor and report on sales, inventory, supplier quality, and any supply issues

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 3 years' experience managing fresh produce in a retail environment (supermarket, grocery, or specialty store)
  • Strong knowledge of produce handling, storage, presentation, variety, and seasonality
  • Exceptional visual merchandising skills and ability to create attractive displays consistently
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills; mature, confident, approachable and calm under pressure
  • Strong organisational, time management, and multitasking abilities
  • Proactive in planning stock orders, managing inventory, and minimising waste
  • Experience maintaining WH&S and FH&S standards in the workplace
  • Passion for delivering high quality fresh produce and exceptional customer service
  • Knowledge of biodynamic and organic farming principles
  • Energy and enthusiasm to meet the physical demands of the role
  • Qualifications in Naturopathy, Nutrition or similar field are advantageous, though not essential
