We have a current opportunity for a
Project Management Support team
, on a contract basis within the Defence sector. The role is based in
Canberra, ACT
. The contract is for an
initial 8 month period, with a 2 x 6 month extension option
.

Start: circa 06 October 2025

DSS Skill Set: Level 2/3/4 - Program & Product Management Services & Support

The Project Team will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:

  • Assist in coordination of planning, scheduling, and estimating of work/tasks to meet Defence requirements for a new initiative.
  • Prepare project documentation and/or assist with the review and clearance processes for project documentation and provide advice on the application of project management methodologies to further the initiative.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies and prepare risk management plans and documentation as well as prepare an implementation plan covering all program elements including recommended procurement approaches.

Minimum mandatory requirements:

  • AGSVA Security clearance.
  • Defence experience.
  • Experienced in Senior Project and Program Management with technical skills in scheduling.
  • Experience in setting up non-capability policy delivery programs from a base level and have good negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • A recognised program/project management or other associated professional qualification; (such as registered project managers under AIPM).
  • Current and relevant program/project management experience.
  • Knowledge commensurate with the skill level required of relevant Australian and International Standards, regulations, and Defence requirements / methodologies.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or relevant industry and/or domain work experience for the class of risks being dealt with (e.g. technical, logistics, commercial, etc).
  • Understanding of risk management methodologies and practices.
  • Previous experience designing and delivering a cost estimate and implementation plan from base level.
  • Pacific knowledge and experience highly desirable.
