About the Opportunity
Are you a highly motivated and hands-on Logistics Manager ready to take the reins at a leading scaffolding business? We're looking for a pivotal leader to manage the entire lifecycle of our equipment—from yard operations and asset tracking to site deliveries and collections.
This is a dynamic role where your focus will be on efficiency, safety, and operational excellence. You will be directly responsible for ensuring our teams and our scaffold equipment are where they need to be, when they need to be there, supporting major construction and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage Yard Operations: Oversee the yard team, ensuring efficient loading/unloading, correct sorting, and meticulous inventory management of all scaffolding components.
- Logistics Planning: Develop and execute optimal delivery and collection schedules, coordinating transport and ensuring compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) laws.
- Asset Management: Implement and maintain robust systems for tracking all inventory, minimising losses, and maximising asset utilisation across multiple projects.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate the yard and transport teams, fostering a strong culture of safety, accountability, and productivity.
- Safety & Compliance: Champion a zero-harm safety culture, ensuring all logistics operations comply with relevant WHS and transport regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement initiatives to drive down operational costs and increase service delivery efficiency.
About You
- Proven experience as a Logistics or Yard Manager, ideally within the scaffolding, construction, or heavy equipment hire industry.
- A truly "hands-on" approach—you are comfortable in the yard environment and willing to lead by example.
- Strong knowledge of transport regulations and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations.
- Excellent people management skills with the ability to motivate teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using inventory management or ERP systems for accurate asset tracking.
- Exceptional organisational and problem-solving abilities to manage complex site logistics.
What We Offer
- A competitive salary package commensurate with experience.
- The chance to join a growing, respected business with a focus on quality and safety.
- A crucial role with autonomy to make a significant impact on operational efficiency.
- Ongoing professional development and career growth opportunities.
