
Senior Payroll Officer

We're on the lookout for a Senior Payroll Officer to join our Finance team. In this critical role, you'll lead the end-to-end processing of payroll for our diverse, national workforce -ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a smooth experience for our people.
But that's not all - you'll also be a key player in our payroll system transition project, lending your expertise to testing, configuration, and implementation. If you thrive on detail, enjoy improving systems, and love being part of meaningful change, this is your opportunity.
THE OPPORTUNITY
- Own the full payroll process (fortnightly and monthly) for employees across various employment types and jurisdictions
- Interpret awards and agreements, especially the Children's Services Award
- Ensure compliance with legislation including PAYG, Superannuation, Payroll Tax, STP, NES and Fair Work
- Manage payroll tax, leave accruals, entitlements, and EOFY reconciliations
- Drive process improvement initiatives and maintain data integrity in our HRIS
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert during our payroll platform transformation -from configuration to go-live support

ABOUT YOU
- 5+ years of experience in end-to-end payroll, including award-based environments
- Strong technical knowledge of payroll systems (HR3 experience a plus)
- A deep understanding of Australian payroll legislation and compliance
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- A detail-oriented mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
