Senior Payroll Manager
Michael Page is proud to be exclusively partnering with a dynamic ASX-listed food manufacturing business undergoing a period of exciting transformation. This is a rare opportunity to join a company where payroll is a strategic priority, backed by a highly engaged executive team, a collaborative culture/WFH flexibility, and significant investment in systems and talent.
Client Details
With operations spanning multiple sites and award structures, the organisation is currently undergoing a significant transformation - modernising its systems, streamlining payroll processes, and embedding a culture of compliance and operational excellence. The executive leadership team is deeply invested in getting payroll right. They've committed substantial resources to upgrading systems, refining processes, and attracting top talent to ensure the payroll function is not only compliant but also efficient and future-ready. This is a rare opportunity to join a business where payroll is seen as a strategic enabler, not just a back-office function.
Description
We are seeking a Senior Payroll Manager who can lead with strategic insight while remaining hands-on and detail-oriented. This role will be instrumental in shaping the payroll function during a period of transformation, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the end-to-end payroll function across multiple sites and complex award structures.
- Drive strategic initiatives to modernise payroll systems and processes.
- Ensure full compliance with Australian payroll legislation and enterprise agreements.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and IT to deliver integrated solutions and reporting.
- Provide expert advice on legislative changes and risk mitigation.
- Mentor and develop a small but capable payroll team.
Profile
You are a seasoned payroll professional who thrives in complex environments. You bring a strategic mindset but are equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves to get things done. You understand the importance of compliance and accuracy, and you're passionate about building efficient, people-focused payroll operations.
You will bring:
- Deep understanding of Australian payroll legislation, awards, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with system upgrades or implementations.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- A collaborative, proactive approach to problem-solving.
Job Offer
- $150,000 - $170,000 + super + bonus
- WFH flexibility
- Be part of a business where payroll is a strategic priority.
- Work with a highly engaged and supportive executive team.
- Enjoy a workplace culture that values transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Access to modern systems and tools.
- Opportunity to make a genuine impact during a period of transformation.
