Business Development Manager

The National Business Development Manager (BDM) – Fleet/Novated Leasing and Rental is responsible for driving growth through the acquisition of new clients and the development of strategic partnerships within all Kooya's product offerings.
This role involves identifying new opportunities, engaging key stakeholders, and delivering tailored solutions. The BDM will play a key role in expanding Kooya's national foot print and achieving sales targets while maintaining high standards of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, prospect, and secure new business opportunities within corporate, government, and not-for-profit sectors for Novated Leasing services, Fleet Leasing and Rental products offerings.
- Develop and manage a pipeline of leads from initial contact to contract execution
- Build strong relationships with HR, Payroll, Finance, and Procurement decision-makers to promote the benefits of Kooya's offering.
- Conduct sales origination activity, presentations, workshops and prepare tender responses
- Collaborate with internal teams (relationship management, hire manager, sales consultants, salary packaging teams) to develop proposals, quotations, and tailored leasing solutions.
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets and KPIs in line with business requirements
- Maintain a strong understanding of fleet and novated leasing legislation, fringe benefits tax (FBT), and salary packaging regulations.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions as necessary to build brand presence and market intelligence
- Provide accurate sales reporting, pipeline management, forecasting, and market feedback to senior management.
- Upload and maintain all pipeline sales data in the CRM
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in business, finance, marketing, or a related field
- Minimum 3–5 years of sales experience, preferably in Fleet and Novated Leasing (preferred)
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
