 About SafeWork NSW

SafeWork NSW is the state's workplace health and safety
regulator. Our mission is to protect NSW workers by preventing and reducing
work-related fatalities, serious injuries, and illnesses. We do this through a
mix of proactive and responsive programs targeting high-risk harms across all
industries, aligned with our strategic plan and regulatory priorities.

We are currently undergoing an exciting transformation to
become a modern, strong, and standalone Work Health and Safety Regulator. This
is your opportunity to contribute meaningfully to that journey.

About the role

As a People and Culture Administration Officer,  you'll play a vital part in delivering
high-quality, customer-focused people and culture support across both
generalist HR and talent functions. You'll provide practical advice and
operational support to ensure our workforce practices are inclusive, compliant,
and aligned with business goals.

Working across recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning,
and employee lifecycle activities, you'll also contribute to initiatives that
enhance our employee experience, support capability building, and drive
continuous improvement.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support
end-to-end recruitment and talent acquisition, including the Inspector
progression process, in line with GSE legislation and best-practice talent
    methods.
  • Deliver
timely, accurate generalist HR advice to managers and staff on a wide
    range of workforce matters.
  • Monitor and
manage enquiries through our Talent and People & Culture shared
inboxes, ensuring prompt and professional service.
  • Assist in
interpreting awards, policies, and industrial instruments to support fair
    and consistent practices.
  • Provide
confidential and considered HR support to internal stakeholders,
    exercising empathy and sound judgment.
  • Maintain
accurate HR records and systems to support compliance and reporting
    obligations.
  • Contribute
to workforce initiatives such as inclusive hiring, onboarding
    improvements, and capability programs.
  • Identify
opportunities for process improvement and support a culture of continuous
    learning and operational excellence.

What We're Looking For

We're after someone who brings:

  • A strong
understanding of recruitment and generalist HR practices.
  • Excellent
    communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability
to navigate sensitive matters with discretion and empathy.
  • A
collaborative mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.

with government processes, HR systems, or industrial frameworks is a plus
    (but not essential).
