Team overview:
As trusted advisors and collaborative partners, the Finance and Assurance function provides a range of services to all parts of the university to drive financial sustainability and provide expert advice and compliance assurance to support delivery of the University Strategy and operational activities.
Our Assurance capability, consisting of Legal Services, Compliance and Contract Governance and Risk, develops the University frameworks and policy, and key expertise that underpins compliance and corporate governance and Deakin's commitment to high standards of integrity.
About the role:
The Coordinator, Contract Governance is responsible for planning, organising, coordinating and supporting the development and implementation of the Contract Governance policy, procedures and frameworks across the University.
As a Coordinator, Contract Governance you will:
- Review, monitor and update the University policy, procedure, practice and frameworks applicable to contract governance at the University.
- Develop and implement practical, accessible solutions based on stakeholder needs.
- Strive for excellence and consult regularly with clients to clarify who requires the information, the purpose for which it is required, criteria for success and where and when advice and recommendation is required.
- Assist in the administration of contracts, including tracking key milestones, renewal dates, and compliance requirements. Ensure that all contract documentation is complete, accurate, and properly filed.
- Support the implementation of contract governance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to legal and institutional standards.
To be successful, you'll have:
- A Degree with substantial subsequent relevant experience; or
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to contribute to the development of practical, fit-for-purpose solutions that meet stakeholder needs while maintaining alignment with organisational standards.
- Strong organisational and administrative capabilities, including the ability to manage multiple tasks, track key deadlines, and maintain accurate and complete records.
- Experience in preparing documentation and using administrative systems to support contract and compliance processes is essential.
- High-level written and verbal communication skills.
