Great Ocean Road Brewhouse, is the most southernly pub on the Australian Mainland. We also support our sister businesses, Apollo Bay Distillery, the only operating Distillery on the Great Ocean Road and Prickly Moses Cellar Door located in the heart of the Otway Rainforest in Barongarook.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Assistant/Venue Manager to provide relief support across our businesses, stepping into each business during times of leave and seasonality pressures. Working alongside our current team, you will compliment them ensuring each business runs smoothly all year round.

You will be required to provide strong leadership and management of all Venue operations and employees. Your responsibilities and duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and the companies' policies and procedures.
  • Ensure constant improvement of operations, through analysis of business metrics
  • Manage budgets/expenses, monitor sales and profits including COGS.
  • Actively networks amongst the community to encourage loyalty and understand customer/ community needs.
  • Deal with maintenance issues, shortages in staff or equipment, renovations etc.

The following skills, and qualifications are essential:

  • Current Victorian RSA and TAB Certifications (or willing to obtain)
  • Strong leadership, training, and motivational skills with excellent communication
  • High-level standard of personal presentation & hygiene
  • Ability to manage conflict, remain calm under pressure and work unsupervised.
