Thebarton South Australia Smartways Logistics Holdings Pty. Ltd. Full time $60,000 - $180,000 per year

Ready to be the link that keeps life-saving healthcare moving?

At Smartways, we're not just moving packages – we're delivering critical medical supplies that save lives every single day. From pharmaceuticals to medical devices and clinical trial shipments, every delivery impacts patient outcomes. Behind every on-time delivery is a skilled driver – and behind every great driver is a Fleet Allocator ensuring the right resources, at the right time, get where they need to be.

We're looking for a Fleet Allocator to allocate work to a fleet of 20–30 drivers in South Australia, coordinating 2-tonne. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, are highly organised, and love solving problems in real time, this is your chance to make a real difference.

About the Role

As a Fleet Allocator, you'll coordinate and optimise the daily movements of our contract driver fleet, ensuring high levels of service and operational efficiency. You'll be the central point of contact between drivers, internal teams, and customers, ensuring seamless delivery of time-critical shipments and supporting positive patient outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Allocate jobs to a fleet of 20–30 drivers using Smartways' technology and communication tools.
  • Coordinate driver schedules and assignments to meet delivery KPIs.
  • Monitor driver GPS trackers and adjust allocations as needed to optimise performance.
  • Communicate updates and resolve queries from internal teams, customers, and hospitals/clinics.
  • Ensure collection and cut-off times for road and air linehauls are met daily.
  • Assist with consolidation/de-consolidation of freight during peak periods.
  • Evaluate next-day volumes and plan driver allocations accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian Chain of Responsibility (CoR) laws.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years' experience in fleet allocation or a similar role (experience with a national courier or logistics company preferred).
  • Strong communication skills and a professional, pleasant phone manner.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent planning, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of South Australia and surrounding areas.
  • Proactive, organised, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Understanding of Chain of Responsibility laws.

Why Join Smartways?

  • Make a life-saving impact every day – Your work ensures hospitals and healthcare providers receive critical supplies when patients need them most.
  • Work in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment – Take ownership of your fleet and make operational decisions that matter.
  • Build strong relationships – Work closely with drivers, internal teams, and healthcare clients.
  • Reward and recognition – Your contribution will be valued and celebrated.
  • Convenient location & supportive culture – Join a team committed to collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.

If you're organised, energetic, and ready to coordinate a fleet that delivers life-saving healthcare every day, apply now and be part of a team where your work truly matters.
