Fleet Allocator – PM Shift

Symons Clark Logistics is a 150-year-old, family owned, Port Adelaide based transport and logistics company. Our experience brings with it premium wharf cartage and container transport services, with a focus on providing customers with complete logistics solutions including warehousing, container pack/unpack, distribution, over-dimensional, heavy haulage, project logistics and Australia wide bulk haulage.

The Transport Fleet Allocator – PM Shift is directly responsible for scheduling and allocating transport deliveries for Symons Clark Logistics' customers and clients, working Monday to Friday on the afternoon shift commencing at 12:00pm.

What you will be doing…

• Scheduling fleet in accordance with daily Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and customer/ client requirements.
• Ensuring the fleet always operates efficiently.
• Determining priorities for remaining drivers.
• Assisting with inbound paperwork and bookings where required.
• Pre-planning and booking next run/s for the fleet prior to arrival in yard.
• Ensuring regular and consistent review of Trucksmart screens relevant, ensuring you are keeping up to date with the daily operations.
• Ensuring regular and consistent reporting of foreseen issues frequently and in real-time to the relevant channels both verbally and with email follow up.
• Regular reviewing and actioning of emails throughout the day, ensuring all that are relevant are actioned prior to end of shift.
• Providing an adequate handover email prior to end of shift to ensure a smooth opening in the morning.
• Completing daily checklists prior to end of shift, leaving checklist for either the Transport Scheduler or Transport Manager.
• Ensuring effective communication is maintained with all internal and external customers, clients, and stakeholders.
• Actively promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
• Other tasks as required.

Do you have…

• Demonstrated experience in fleet allocation within the Transport industry.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and professionally across departments.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Excellent troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills.
• Working knowledge of Transport Management Systems, i.e., Trucksmart.
• Confidence using the Microsoft Office Suite.
