Your new role:

Commencing March, this position is being offered on a permanent, full-time basis, and will be based at the beautiful Nitmiluk Gorge (approximately 30km from Katherine town). The position is a key role within our organisation and will suit someone with great people management skills and who has a strong understanding across a broad range of hospitality functions.

This is a unique opportunity to work with Nitmiluk Tours, owned by the Jawoyn people, in the beautiful surrounds of Nitmiluk National Park (Katherine, Northern Territory).

What you will need to succeed:

This exciting opportunity is for you to manage the day-to-day operations of the F&B outlets. Your passion for great customer service, attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to manage staff will set you apart for this role. Managing a small team, you will be equally happy serving customers and assisting with other duties around Nitmiluk, as you will be managing and organising staff and resources.

The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for day functions and operation of the Nitmiluk Cafe, Dinner Cruise and Jatti Pool Restaurant, together with the guest services offered to the Cicada Lodge guests, with the assistance of the Executive Chef and the Cicada Lodge Supervisor. This includes managing staff, food operations and outlet upkeep and maintenance whilst on duty.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Extensive food and beverage knowledge
• Excellent customer service and communication skills with a high attention to detail
• Ability to lead and train others in food and beverage service
• Strong understanding of cost control
• High-level customer service skills
• RMS and POS system operations
• Demonstrated knowledge of workplace health and safety and food safety
• You will also require full rights to work in Australia, an Ochre Card (or have the ability to obtain one), a current Australian Drivers licence and RSA.
• Minimum 2 years working on the food and Beverage industry
• Current First Aid
• Responsible Service of Alcohol
