Are you a highly experienced Estimator or Bid Manager with a strong background in Surface Preparation and Coating Applications? We're looking for a driven professional to join our dynamic team and play a key role in securing and managing projects across our industrial maintenance and protective coatings operations.

About the Role

In this senior position, you'll oversee the tendering and estimating process from start to finish, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and profitability. You'll work closely with operations, project management, and clients to develop detailed cost estimates, prepare bid submissions, and provide expert technical input on coating systems and application processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and submission of tenders, bids, and proposals.
  • Conduct detailed cost estimation for surface preparation, blasting, painting, and coating works.
  • Analyse project specifications, drawings, and scope to determine material, labour, and equipment requirements.
  • Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to obtain accurate pricing.
  • Develop and maintain estimating databases and cost models.
  • Provide technical and commercial support throughout the tendering and award process.
  • Support project handover and assist in post-award reviews.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Extensive experience in industrial coatings, blasting, and surface preparation (minimum 5–10 years).
  • Proven background in estimating, bid management, or tendering within industrial or mining sectors.
  • Strong understanding of coating specifications, standards, and application methods (e.g. NACE/AMPP, AS/NZS standards).
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and commercial acumen.
  • Proficient in estimation and project management software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build client relationships.
