The right candidate will work closely with the Commercial Manager and Director of Operations in the pre-contracts phase at Bugardi.

Senior Estimator - Metro Based

This role will see you:

You will take ownership of estimating and pre-contracts activity, delivering both technical excellence and commercial leadership across major projects:

• Lead the preparation, submission, and negotiation of high-value tenders and proposals.
• Prepare accurate estimates, pricing schedules, take-offs, BOQs, and budgets, validating all costs from first principles.
• Coordinate and review external QS BOQs, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with project scope.
• Provide early-stage cost advice and optioneering to inform design and procurement decisions.
• Facilitate preliminary design documentation for design-and-construct tenders to achieve required outcomes.
• Assess buildability, materials, and innovative solutions to deliver cost-effective, practical results.
• Develop procurement strategies and negotiate best-value outcomes with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Maintain robust, auditable records of subcontractor and supplier documentation, including addenda and clarifications.
• Track project performance, reconcile costs against budgets, and proactively identify risks and opportunities.
• Build and maintain historical cost databases to strengthen forecasting and improve future estimating accuracy.
• Review post-award design drawings to identify out-of-scope work and protect Bugardi's commercial position.
• Collaborate with project teams to cost and substantiate variations.
• Ensure estimating systems and processes remain robust, traceable, and continuously improved.
• Support bid submissions, tender clarifications, and complex client negotiations with professionalism and commercial insight.

Your Expertise

You will be a commercially astute, detail-driven professional with the ability to influence both strategy and delivery.

• Degree or diploma in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline (desirable).
• Proven estimating experience within the WA resources sector, ideally across non-process infrastructure and modular/transportable projects.
• Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated success in cost control, procurement, and negotiation.
• Familiarity with WA subcontractor and supplier networks.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam Revu, and estimating software (e.g., Expert Estimation, Candy, or equivalent).
• Experience leading or mentoring others, or a strong interest in developing leadership capability.
• Clear communicator with excellent stakeholder engagement skills.
• Fair, flexible, and collaborative approach, with the ability to deliver under pressure.
• Junior to mid level estimators looking to take that next step are encouraged to apply
