Fluid Business Advisory is a forward-thinking public practice accounting firm based in Cairns. We specialise in taxation, business advisory, and bookkeeping services for ambitious small-to-medium businesses. We're expanding our team and are seeking two talented professionals to join us:

  • Accountant (minimum 2 years' experience)
  • Bookkeeper (minimum 1 year's experience)

Accountant

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and lodgement of financial statements, income tax returns, across companies, trusts, partnerships, and sole traders.
  • Assisting clients with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning.
  • Exposure to complex tax matters (GST, CGT, FBT, Div7A).
  • Supporting clients with growth strategies and process improvements.
  • Liaising with the ATO and other regulatory bodies on behalf of clients.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in public practice accounting.
  • Commenced or completed CA/CPA program.
  • Proficiency in Xero.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Stable employment history — we value commitment and continuity, not frequent job-hopping.

Bookkeeper

Responsibilities:

  • End-to-end bookkeeping including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
  • Preparation and lodgement of BAS and IAS.
  • Assisting clients with payroll compliance (STP, superannuation, payroll tax, WorkCover).
  • Supporting the delivery of quarterly management reporting.
  • Helping clients get the most out of Xero and cloud-based systems.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year bookkeeping experience in a public practice environment.
  • Certificate IV in Bookkeeping/Accounting (or higher qualification).
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero.
  • Ability to manage multiple client relationships with professionalism.
