Operations Coordinator

The Operations Coordinator role is a permanent, part-time position, approximately 20 hours per week. This position provides a flexible working arrangement, with some office-based presence required. You'll manage daily operations — enquiries, memberships, events, communications, and bookkeeping while supporting the Executive Committee and sailing programs. This diverse, flexible, hands-on role suits someone with strong admin and bookkeeping skills who enjoys variety and working in a collaborative environment.
Day to day operations include:
•Responding to all club enquiries, in person, phone, email and social media.
•Use accounting software, XERO, for the club's financial management, including managing accounts payable and receivable, daily financial entries and reconciliations.
•Using revSPORTS in the organisation and management of land and water-based club events and courses.
•Using CANVA to develop club marketing material.
•Using a range of social media platforms for club promotion.
•Managing club membership applications, renewals and expiries using revSPORTS.
•Managing club insurances, memberships, and licenses.
•Organising and managing the club's online storage files.
•Stocktaking and ordering of office supplies, club equipment and club merchandise.
•General upkeep and cleaning of the of the Cairns Yacht Club Regatta Room at Marlin Marina clubhouse.
•Monitoring the pontoon, club boats and other facilities utilised by the club.
•Working with the Executive Committee and other club positions to coordinate and advertise the sailing calendar.
•Supporting all club meetings and committees with organisation and administration, and completing tasks as requested.
•Supporting the Sailing Instructors in the delivery of Australian Sailing courses by assisting with advertising, and stocktaking and ordering material.
•Coordinate the club's work, health, and safety requirements.
•Supporting administration of grants, sponsorships, compliance and governance requirements.
•Other operational and administrative tasks as required.
