Goodna State School is seeking an experienced and capable Head of Department (Curriculum) to lead with confidence and professionalism in a dynamic and complex learning environment.

This permanent part-time position (0.6FTE, 60 Hours) offers an opportunity to influence high-quality teaching and learning, strengthen curriculum implementation, and support improved outcomes for all students.

Your opportunity

As the Head of Department (Curriculum) your responsibilities will include:

  • Deep understanding V.9 Australian Curriculum
  • Proven ability to design and lead whole school reform; differentiated for beginning / new teachers through to experienced high-performing teachers
  • Ability and preparedness to quality assure whole curriculum alignment
  • Understanding of complex learning environments (characterised by trauma, disability, poverty and cultural diversity)
  • Strong advocate for socially just practices
  • Strong writing and verbal communication capabilities

  • Visible Learning Fundamentals
  • Trauma informed practice
  • Previous experiences with effective PBL Frameworks
  • Growth Mindset (What's Possible)
  • Not hierarchically driven; capability to nurture shared voices within stakeholders
