About Warakirri College

Warakirri College is a highly regarded independent school offering Year 10 and HSC courses to young people aged 15 to 22 years old who have disengaged from mainstream education pathways primarily due to struggles with anxiety or depression and social disadvantage. The College has, campuses in Blacktown, Campbelltown and Fairfield and a Distance Education program.

We create a flexible and inclusive learning environment with extremely low student-to-staff ratios, small class sizes, and ATAR and non-ATAR study pathways. Each campus has approximately 100 students, facilitating positive relationships between staff and students. Around 30% of graduates receive an early offer for University, 50% progress to TAFE and 10% gain employment.

Warakirri College is proposing to open a new campus in Redfern starting February 2026.

About the Role

The Head of Campus will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Redfern campus including enrolments, student welfare, behaviour management and the support and coordination of campus staff, resources and facilities.

Reporting to a Deputy Principal, this role sits within the College's Executive Team, responsible for implementing strategic initiatives consistent with the College's Strategic Plan.

About You

Key selection criteria:

  • A recognised qualification in teaching and current NESA teaching accreditation at a proficient level or above
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience working in a teaching or student welfare role
  • Minimum two years of leadership experience in a school or other setting
  • Ability to effectively work in a learning environment with young people who have faced social or emotional challenges
  • Possess outstanding problem-solving skills, flexibility and foresight to anticipate, prioritise and resolve issues in line with College requirements and student needs
  • Ability to maintain stable performance under pressure and/or opposition (such as time pressure or challenging situations)
  • Possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability in student pastoral care.
