Finance Accountant

We are currently seeking a finance accountant to join our dynamic team. The finance accountant assists the chief financial officer in the sound financial management of selectability and associated entities through the delivery of comprehensive, timely accurate accounting and financial administrative support services. 

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• overseeing daily financial transactions and reporting
• preparing and analyse financial statements
• ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies
• providing insights and recommendations for financial planning and strategy
• assisting in budgeting and forecasting activities
• preparing end of month financials for management
• collaborating with other departments to streamline financial processes
• conducting regular audits and reviews to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data

To be considered for this rewarding role you will have:

• experience and competence at an advanced level in the use of MYOB and the Microsoft office suite, particularly excel
• understanding of job costing processes
• demonstrated understanding of the operation of the SCHADS /AGED/ NURSES awards
• excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including presentation skills
• highly developed analytical, problem solving, and numerical skills including the ability to compile, analyse data and prepare reports
• a demonstrated high level of attention to detail with a consistent approach
• a demonstrated ability to prioritise conflicting priorities as required
• ability to work under minimal supervision with the capacity to exercise initiative in the application of work processes and procedures and establish objectives and outcomes

• must hold a Bachelor in Business or Commerce majoring in Accounting or Finance; or have 5+ years experience in a similar position
• studying for or completion of Chartered Accountants (CA), Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) or equivalent qualification (desirable)
• a Child Safety & Personal History Screening check
• a Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) (or the ability to obtain)
• a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or the ability to obtain)
• NDIS Worker Orientation Module "Quality, Safety & You" completion certificate (or the ability or obtain)

The finance accountant is a permanent full-time position based in Townsville.
