TP Human Capital is seeking an experienced Supervisor – Accounts Payable for a 16-month contract in Townsville. The role offers the opportunity to lead a skilled finance team, ensuring accurate, efficient, and compliant payment processes across a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

About the Role

The Supervisor – Accounts Payable oversees day-to-day payables operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strong financial control. This position plays a key role in supporting the team, maintaining data integrity, and driving continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the Accounts Payable team to ensure accurate and timely processing of supplier, vendor, staff, and payments.
  • Maintain and review vendor records in the financial system to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • Oversee reconciliations, journal adjustments, and end-of-month activities.
  • Provide advice and act as a key contact for payables queries and escalations.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Support training and capability building across automated payables systems and tools.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to system and service enhancements.

About You

  • Experience leading or supervising an accounts payable or finance team.
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable processes, vendor management, and reconciliations.
  • Skilled in using financial systems and Excel with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills when managing queries and stakeholders.
  • Organised and proactive, able to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Experience in large, complex organisations is desirable.
