About The Role
This role will provide planning advice to internal and external stakeholders in accordance with Council's Planning Scheme and assess development applications in particular Concurrence Agency Response applications.
About You
An ideal Planning Services Officer will have solid knowledge of the Planning Act 2016, related legislation, the Townsville City Plan, and the Queensland Development Code. They will demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant business systems.
For level 4 and above, candidates must hold a planning degree or equivalent experience eligible for PIA membership, two years' relevant experience, strong planning expertise, and a proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and provide advice on more complex planning matters.
