About the Role
Our client, a specialist service organisation, is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join their HR team. This is a key role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional service and reliable payroll solutions. This is a stand-alone Payroll Advisor, responsible for end-to-end functions for 275 staff. Whilst the role is stand-alone, you will have support and coverage from the broader members of the HR function.
Responsibilities
- Process multiple payroll cycles across fortnightly and monthly frequencies using ADP system
- Provide customer-focused support and guidance to employees on payroll-related inquiries
- Partner with HR to offer practical advice and assistance on payroll compliance, award interpretation, and onboarding
- Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies with a solutions-oriented approach
- Ensure accuracy in payroll transactions, reporting, and statutory obligations
Qualifications
- Cert IV or Diploma in Payroll, HR or Business Administration - not mandatory
Required Skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex payroll processes independently and efficiently
- Strong customer service ethos with a responsive and empathetic communication style
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to provide feedback on detailed payroll and superannuation enquiries
- Familiarity with ADP systems (preferred)
- Understanding of payroll legislation
- Proven planning and prioritisation skills
- Willingness to learn and support broader HR initiatives, including systems, reporting and compliance
- Keen attention to detail and a proactive mindset to drive continuous improvement
- Please note - my client may consider part-time of 4 days a week if operationally appropriate
