HR Manager – Full Time

We are seeking an experienced and inspiring HR Manager to join our client Aboriginal Health Council of SA (AHCSA) in leading their dedicated team with professionalism, empathy, and cultural awareness. This pivotal role calls for a leader who not only brings deep expertise in HR management but who is also passionate about creating a supportive, inclusive environment that respects and responds sensitively to the critical cultural needs of people and communities. With a strong balance of strategic vision and hands-on guidance, you will champion best practice HR initiatives, empower your team, and contribute to building a workplace where every individual feels valued, respected, and supported to thrive.

Why consider this HR Manager role?

  • Enjoy a central Adelaide location with the convenience of on-site parking.
  • Have the benefit of your own dedicated office space to work effectively and confidentially.
  • Be employed under the Aboriginal Health Council of SA Enterprise Agreement 2023, working a balanced 37.5-hour week.
  • Access flexi-time arrangements to support work-life balance.
  • Take advantage of a generous leave package including 5 weeks annual leave, annual leave loading, and a rostered day off every 4 weeks.
  • Benefit from a gifted Christmas closedown period to spend quality time with family and friends.
  • Receive a salary up to $133,486.79 plus super, with a scheduled pay increase in July 2026 under the EBA. (Depending on experience)
  • Maximise your take-home pay with salary sacrificing options.
  • Be equipped with a work phone and laptop to support flexible working.
  • Grow in your career with professional development opportunities, including funded conferences and study leave (your first HR conference is already booked for November).
  • Join a passionate and supportive team, and even help recruit your own HR support person, ensuring you have the right colleague by your side.
  • Access a variety of additional benefits such as Community Service Leave and a Purchase Leave Scheme to further tailor your work-life balance.

What we're looking for in our HR Manager

Qualifications & Expertise – A Bachelor of Human Resource Management or other relevant tertiary qualification is essential. Alternatively, you may hold a lesser qualification complemented by extensive skills and significant HR experience to an equivalent level.

Specialist Credentials – A Return-to-Work Coordinator Certificate is desirable and will be highly regarded.

Authentic Leadership – You have the proven ability to build strong, genuine relationships across all levels of an organisation. You lead by example and are known for your warm, engaging communication style – even when navigating complex or sensitive conversations.

Cultural Advocacy – You ensure Aboriginal perspectives are meaningfully represented in all decision-making processes, and if you are a non-Aboriginal person, you consistently act as a trusted ally.

Comprehensive HR Operations Experience – You bring a wealth of experience across the full spectrum of HR, including recruitment, workforce planning, performance management and development, HR process improvement, and providing strategic advice to the Management Team and Board.

Flexibility & Commitment – The role requires the ability to travel both intra-state and interstate (including overnight absences) and occasional out-of-hours work.

Integrity & Compliance – A current National Police Certificate (or the ability to obtain one) is required.

To apply please provide a cover letter and up to date resume outlining your experience and why you believe you would be a great fit for this role.
