Our Transition to Work (TtW) program delivers tailored employment and education support to young people aged 15-24, who are at risk of long-term unemployment in the North-Western Melbourne/Barwon Employment Regions. We work towards the same, purpose-led goal of improving lives through dignity and choice. We have a new opportunity for an experienced business development professional to join our team on a permanent full-time basis.

About You

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Employer Engagement Coordinator to join our team on a fixed-term maternity leave contract. This role is a unique blend of relationship management, sales, and youth employment support. You will be responsible for engaging with local employers, understanding their workforce needs, and matching these opportunities to our young participants.

This is not just a coordination role – it's a sales-focused position where your ability to market, negotiate, and secure opportunities will directly impact youth employment outcomes. Experience in reverse marketing and sales will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with employers across diverse industries in the Craigieburn region.
  • Actively promote the TTW program to local businesses, showcasing the value of hiring young people.
  • Identify, negotiate, and secure job, traineeship, and apprenticeship opportunities for participants.
  • Work closely with participants aged 15–24 to understand their skills, aspirations, and employment needs.
  • Support the broader TTW team in achieving employment placement targets.
  • Maintain accurate records of employer contacts, opportunities, and participant placements.

Key Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in sales, business development, or reverse marketing.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and negotiate.
  • Passion for youth employment, education, and community outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and results-driven.
  • Previous experience in employment services or workforce development is advantageous.
