We are seeking a motivated and proactive Senior Coordinator, Engagement to ensure the efficient delivery of fit-for-purpose engagement strategies, change initiatives, and communications programs for the Researcher Development Academy (RDA), which supports researchers at all career stages. Experience in a university or research environment will be highly regarded.

The position works closely with academic and professional staff within the RDA and across the wider university to plan and deliver high-quality engagement strategies and communication activities that drive the success of RDA programs. Key activities include leading change communications and coordinating professional development events for early-career researchers.

As a Senior Coordinator, Engagement, you will:

  • Lead the planning, delivery and development of strategies and activities that facilitate researcher engagement with the RDA and elevate its vision and purpose.
  • Identify and implement communication initiatives that promote and raise awareness of RDA's programs across the university and to external partners.
  • Prepare communications content and resources that build understanding and support for researcher training and development programs, using the RDA's distinct voice and style.
  • Nurture strong relationships with academics, graduate researchers, supervisors and partners to ensure the continued success of RDA programs.
  • Engage in continuous improvement to enhance researcher engagement processes and align with Deakin's strategic direction.

To be successful, you'll have:

  • Postgraduate qualifications (or progress toward) with extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven expertise in developing, implementing and evaluating strategic engagement and communications programs.
  • Experience managing projects, timelines, budgets and resources in large, complex organisations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences and channels.
  • Strong knowledge of digital communication tools and platforms, and an understanding of the higher education and research environment.
