As a Care Leader you will;

  • Lead with Innovation: Guide and mentor your team of Senior Support Facilitators and Support Facilitators, ensuring they deliver high-quality, trauma-informed care that reflects our commitment to pioneering new standards in the sector.
  • Agile Oversight: Monitor daily performance and adapt strategies as needed to ensure top-tier outcomes for the young people in our care. Your leadership will drive continuous improvement and responsiveness to each individual's needs.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, ensuring that our care practices are collaborative, transparent, and aligned with best practices in the field.
  • Therapeutic Excellence: Oversee the implementation of positive behavior support plans, ensuring that each plan is tailored to drive therapeutic outcomes and contribute to the stability and permanency of primary placements.
  • Daily Care Leadership: Actively participate in and oversee essential daily routines, from meal preparation to recreational activities, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and consistent environment for all young people.
  • Crisis Management: Handle challenging behaviours with calm and consistency, using your understanding of trauma to effectively communicate, motivate, and reinforce positive changes in behaviour.
  • Effective Communication: Facilitate clear and impactful communication across all levels, from young people and their families to peers and managers. Ensure that progress is documented, feedback is provided, and that young people are involved in decision-making where appropriate.
  • Professional Development and Reflection: Lead by example by engaging in ongoing professional reflection, supervision, and training. Encourage your team to embrace new ways of working and to continuously develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with your team and the broader care network to ensure a cohesive, supportive environment that prioritizes the well-being of young people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure all care practices are compliant with relevant policies, procedures, and legislative requirements. Contribute to continuous improvement by actively participating in audits and quality assurance processes.
  • On-Call Leadership: Be prepared to provide after-hours support through a shared on-call roster, ensuring that the needs of the program are met promptly and effectively.

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Expertise in Human Services: Your background in Social Sciences, Social Welfare, Psychology, or Community Services—or your equivalent experience—gives you a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the sector. You're ready to apply this knowledge to make a tangible difference in the lives of young people.
  • Mastery of Child Protection: With advanced knowledge of the Child Protection Residential Care sector and relevant legislation, you're equipped to navigate the complexities of this field. Your expertise ensures that every decision you make is informed, ethical, and in the best interest of those in your care.
  • Proven Leadership Excellence: You're not just a manager—you're a leader. Your experience in staff supervision, performance management, and financial oversight has honed your ability to inspire and guide teams toward achieving outstanding outcomes. You know how to create a culture of accountability, support, and continuous improvement.
  • Engaging Collaborator: Your strong interpersonal skills make you a natural at building meaningful relationships with stakeholders. You excel at collaboration, ensuring that every voice is heard and every partnership is productive.

  • A P2 or Open Drivers License
