Role Description
This is a contract on-site role for a Trainer and Assessor, located in Newcastle, NSW. The Trainer and Assessor will be responsible for delivering training programs, assessing student competencies, and maintaining accurate records. The role includes conducting classroom-based and practical training, ensuring training materials are up-to-date, and providing feedback to students. The Trainer and Assessor will also support students in achieving their learning goals, assess their progress, and comply with the organisation's and industry's standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring Training and assessment is conducted in accordance with organisation's policies and procedures.
- Identify the various needs of students and creating effective learning options to meet these needs.
- Assess student assessments in accordance with the principles of assessment and rules of evidence.
- Advise students on courses and related matters
- Provide students with constructive feedback on their assessment outcomes, and record feedback according to requirements
- Maintain records of students' progress, attendance and training activities
- Be present in the classroom prior to the delivery start time and ensure proper preparation for training delivery; ensure class is well organised
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner, including dressing neatly, being polite and respectful in one's manner towards both staff and students
- Report any serious problems, of academic or other nature, to the Direct Supervisor, and Student Services and Management, as required
- Carry out tasks requested by the Direct Supervisor within a reasonable timeframe, attended team meetings provide support to peers, when required
- Monitor students course progress and communicate to students about his/her academic issues/potential risks for unsatisfactory course progress and low attendance.
- Participate and/or contribute to student counselling sessions, as required
- Contribute to the development of resources and courses such as assessment tools, trainer and assessor guides and assessment mapping
- Participate in assessment contextualisation, validation and moderations.
- Participate in professional development sessions, as per company requirements.
- Ensure Industry Currency is current within the last 12 months on an ongoing basis.
Qualifications
- Must be a
Registered Nurse
. - TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment equivalent or higher.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work on-site in a classroom or training environment
- Relevant industry experience and qualifications
