Practice Manager – Choice Dental (Browns Plains)
About Us
Choice Dental is a well-established, busy 6 chair dental practice located in Browns Plains, committed to providing high-quality dental care in a professional and welcoming environment. We are dedicated to excellence in patient care and maintaining a positive, collaborative team culture. We are now seeking an experienced and motivated Practice Manager to lead our practice operations.
The Role
The Practice Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the practice to ensure seamless delivery of services and optimal team performance. This role requires strong leadership, the ability to balance competing priorities, and the skills to foster positive relationships with patients, staff, clinicians, and the practice owner.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide active supervision and leadership to ensure new as well as established clinical and administrative standards are consistently upheld.
- Formulate and Develop plans for practice growth and success, in close conjunction with the business owner.
- Manage patient concerns and grievances in a professional, empathetic, and solutions-focused manner.
- Oversee staff performance management, including giving positive and constructive feedback, performance reviews, and support for professional development.
- Effectively manage the competing needs of stakeholders while maintaining harmony, positivity and professional integrity.
- Developing, Conducting and Supervising team training across both clinical and administrative areas.
- Liaising with Health Funds, Accreditation Bodies and other similar administrative stakeholders in the dental industry to keep Choice Dental in a competitive position in the market.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Manage rosters, staff scheduling, and holiday leave planning.
- Perform very basic bookkeeping and administrative duties to support business operations.
- Filling in reception and chairside dental assisting roles when staff away, or as required.
- Perform duties as directed by the business owner to fulfil any future business growth objectives.
About You
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Proven experience in a leadership or management role, within a dental or healthcare setting.
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to manage difficult conversations professionally.
- Performs well under pressure and remains calm and professional at all times.
- Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
- A proactive and detail-oriented approach, with the ability to anticipate needs and address issues promptly.
- A commitment to fostering a positive team culture and delivering high-quality patient care.
Other Requirements
- Availability to work a minimum of 4 days per week, with a commitment of at least 46–48 weeks per year (full-time equivalent workload).
- Proficiency in dental practice software (preferred) or willingness to learn quickly.
- Excellent computer skills including but not limited to Excel, Word, ChatGPT, social media, and software related to advertising like Canva etc, and a willingness to learn new software as and when they become required.
- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Current working rights in Australia.
