Our client is looking for an experienced
Practice Manager
to take charge of the operational heartbeat of our firm. Based in Brisbane's CBD, this role is ideal for someone who thrives on organisation, enjoys ongoing process improvement, and knows how to balance compliance with commercial savvy.

The Opportunity
As Practice Manager, you'll be the go-to person for the smooth and efficient running of the firm. You'll wear many hats from operational administrator, strategist, mentor, and problem solver, all while supporting the team to deliver exceptional outcomes for clients.

Your Responsibilities Will Span Across

  • Operations & Systems – Keep the wheels turning day-to-day by refining processes, streamlining workflows, and coordinating with suppliers and service providers.
  • People & Culture – Oversee onboarding, training, and performance support for staff, while fostering a positive, collaborative workplace environment.
  • Finance & Trust Accounting – Manage budgets, billing, supplier negotiations, and ensure full compliance with trust accounting obligations.
  • Compliance & Risk – Uphold professional standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring the practice operates with integrity and accountability.
  • Business & Growth – Contribute to strategic planning, business development initiatives, and client service improvements.
  • Technology & Innovation – Champion smarter use of practice management systems (Smokeball) and digital tools, ensuring data security and staff adoption.
  • Client Care – Enhance the client journey, manage and improve existing processes and support partners with relationship management.

About You
We're seeking someone with:

  • Prior experience in a Practice Manager or senior operational role, ideally within legal or professional services.
  • Strong financial acumen, including trust accounting knowledge.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks, workplace legislation, and professional conduct rules.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to juggle competing priorities.
  • A leadership style that is approachable, professional, and solutions-focused.
  • Confidence with legal practice software (Smokeball experience highly regarded).
