Your new role:

As an Archivist, you will support the development, documentation, and management of a diverse archival collection. Working closely with the Curator, you'll ensure the accessibility, preservation, and interpretation of historical materials, while also contributing to exhibitions and community engagement initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Cataloguing, digitising, and documenting archival materials
  • Supporting the development of archival policies and procedures
  • Facilitating access to the collection for researchers and the public
  • Assisting with acquisitions, research, and significance assessments
  • Contributing to the preparation and installation of exhibitions
  • Engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including volunteers and community groups

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Experience in archive management, object conservation, and museum practices
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Excellent research, analytical and conceptual thinking abilities
  • Knowledge of records management principles and relevant legislation
  • A collaborative and ethical approach to professional standards
  • Tertiary qualifications (or progress towards) in Museum Studies, Archival Studies, History, Archaeology, or a related field
