Primary objective
As an Event Funding Coordinator, you'll be part of a small, high-performing team responsible for administering the Territory's event funding programs,
managing agreements, and supporting event organisers to deliver quality outcomes across the NT.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Support the Event Partnerships team in delivering a funding program that supports events and festivals which engage local communities, attract
visitors, and showcase the Northern Territory.
2. Analyse and assess event funding applications, providing clear and evidence-based recommendations to the assessment panel in line with program
guidelines and strategic priorities.
3. Administer and maintain the event evaluation program, including participant introductions, database management, results tracking, and return-on-
investment documentation.
4. Monitor and assess acquittal reports, ensuring timely milestone payments and compliance with funding agreements. Assist in the preparation of
correspondence and documentation, including Ministerial, briefings, and stakeholder agreements.
5. Contribute to the coordination of events, projects, and initiatives supported through the Event Funding Program.
6. Support the development of marketing and communications materials, including design briefs and content coordination.
7. Build and maintain strong relationships across the events and festivals sector to support continuous improvement and elevate the quality of events
delivered across the Territory.
8. Develop and maintain effective partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders to support collaborative outcomes.
9. Provide administrative and analytical support to the broader team, including data analysis, financial reporting, and monitoring of Event Funding
Program budgets.
10. Research and review software and process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Event Funding Program.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in administering funding or grant programs, including assessing applications, monitoring compliance, and managing
payments in accordance with program guidelines and policies.
2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide clear, evidence-based recommendations to support decision-
making.
3. Proven organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records, and deliver outcomes within required
timeframes.
4. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing briefings, correspondence, and stakeholder documentation.
5. Ability to build and maintain productive relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders across government, industry, and the
events sector.
6. Experience using databases, spreadsheets, and reporting tools to support evaluation, tracking, and analysis of program outcomes.
7. Sound understanding of financial processes and budget management, with the ability to apply these skills in program reporting and administration.
8. Commitment to continuous improvement, including identifying and implementing process and system efficiencies to enhance program delivery.
9. Knowledge of or demonstrated interest in the Northern Territory events and tourism sector, and its role in supporting economic and community
outcomes.
Further information
You may be required to work on events delivered by Tourism and Events NT, which can include weekends and public holidays. The role may also require
intrastate to events being supported in Alice Springs etc.
