About Occupational Therapy

Our Occupational Therapy department at Austin Health is a bustling hub of patient-centered care, continuous improvement, professional growth and supportive career structures. Our focus is on wellbeing, evidence-based service improvement, sustainable workforce, and growth and development.

About the role

Based in our Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) an Aged Rehabilitation service, you will lead a team of OT and AHA clinicians to deliver evidence-based care to older adults. Significant clinical experience working with an aged population, including with neurological conditions is highly valued. Opportunity to join our large department and rotate to other areas of acute and subacute care.

This role will join our supportive and highly skilled grade 3 group. You'll shape the direction of clinical and non-clinical care in OT through a dedication to:

  • Evidence-based service improvement: The grade 3s are at the forefront of high quality, evidence-based care in OT, influencing best practice within a clinical area.

  • Professional growth: The grade 3s will lead quality and service improvement activities and champion research to ensure we meet the needs of our patients and our colleagues

  • Sustainable workforce: The grade 3s are expert teachers and trainers who grow the skills, knowledge and confidence of our clinical workforce.

  • Workforce wellbeing: We care about our teams. We believe that a healthy and happy department delivers great patient care. The grade 3s will role model behaviours and lead initiatives that will deliver on these aims.
